I like the folds of the fabric and the shadows cast on her face. I find portraits very hard and unforgiving to paint. I don't use oil because of all that mixing of colours and a messy media to handle. So well done.

Yes, portraits for me too are the hardest thing to paint. The fabric is quite forgiving, if the roundness of a fold is moved over from reality it is still ok. Now if the roundness of a cheek is moved, bingbadaboom, you get clown.
