Oil on canvas 12'' x 16''

Her hair a tangle, an auburn crown.
A moment in time, a quiet sounds.
The wrap is simple, emerald green.
She's captive and free, as a dream.
For ever more, My Lady Fair.
It matters not of why or where.

Stunning. How long did it take you? Did you paint from a model? Acrylics?

Thank you Filasis-Nome, yea, it's oil on canvas. It took about 20 days maybe more. I'm learning as I go and it doesn't always go in the right direction. The models name is Jenny and she's helped me with quite a few of these. I take lots of pixs with all kinds of poses and lighting so I can pick and choose from them bits and pieces to build the piece. I then arrange the pix all over the easle to ref from eventually leaving them all behind to concentrate on the canvas alone. Jenny obviously couldn't sit for 20 days of her life nor could I afford to pay her that much, so I just had to make do.
Cheers and have fun!

I was looking for something wrong with this, something to demonstrate my incredible knowledge and artistic eye, and...I couldn't find anything. This is beautiful. The bright area on her face and shawl contrasts so perfectly with the dark background. And her expression of...what is she thinking? It makes the viewer, me, curious and interested. What a master you are!

Thank you Alan, I am honored! I don't feel very masterly. I just tried to cover all the bases and I still want to go back and fine tune it some more. :D

Thank you Tami! I appreciate all the extra exclamation points. :D By the looks of your works you will probably be getting them returned with my own comments on your pieces. :)
